How do extreme weather events affect the Harz region ? How distribute the large amounts of rain and where does the water flood ? How to model such events on multiple scales ? Such questions are at the core of the new project EXDIMUM ( Extremwettermanagement mit digitalen Multiskalen-Methoden) funded by BMBF that just started and comprises seven partners from academia and water management in the Harz region. The IRP will be responsible for modeling time series of satellite data on different time and spatial scales by developing suitable deep learnig and constraint recurrent learning methods.
