The startup Aeon Robotics GmbH wins this years Niedersachsen Innovation award 2022. Aeon Robotics was founded by former IRP members Sören and Sönke Michalik together with Lars Heim and with the support of an IRP-based EXIST grant. The jury acknowledged Aeon Robotics´ vision to bring dextrous grasping to the factory floor. The startup achieves this through their HandEffector, a novel robot hand and teaching system that allows for seemless human teaching of applied force and motion by means of integrated force feedback. The award comes with a prize money of 20.000 EUR. The IRP congratulates and looks very much forward to a joint research project with Aeon Robotics on advanced teaching methods which is scheduled to start in August 2022.
